Perfume Bottle

This project was to create a persona and design a perfume bottle that would fit the profile. This was done for my Product Design course taught by Xijin Hiraga. We fabricated traditionally and digitally to bring forth our final product.

Sketches & Foam Iterations

Persona & Moodboard

After critique I was advised to continue on with the final foam model pictured before. However, the design was too planar. I needed to add more visual dimension to the model to make it more appealing. I continued working on that model adding more interest.

After finalizing the foam model, I took iteration process to rhino. I recreated the form in Rhino by taking measurements. I refined the model and made it more precise. I hollowed out the middle, so it could be 3D printed. Before printing it, I took it into Fusion to create an atomizer with a threaded insert. I also unrolled all the faces on Rhino. I wanted to use the vinyl cutter to wrap all the flat surfaces with a color. This way light could travel through the unique cuts in the form. This was inspired by gothic architectures importance of light and its reflections. I 3D printed the final form in clear resin. I used black vinyl stickers to cover the flat surfaces. This resulted in a refined final form pictured below. Light was emphasized in my form, and I think this properly encapsulated my persona at the beginning.
