2. Sashiko Denim, 2024
Mending
This pair of jeans was made using natural dyeing techniques and 100% natural materials to reflect a sense of harmony with the planet. Inspired by the Japanese traditions of Boro and Sashiko — Boro meaning “tattered” and referring to textiles that have been lovingly repaired over time, and Sashiko being a decorative form of hand stitching used to reinforce and mend fabric — the piece is designed to evolve. Each repair becomes part of its story. These jeans are meant to be worn, mended, and passed down through generations as a living heirloom.
